Under the Sea Scapes

Over the last few weeks, Year 4 students from Battle Hill Primary School have been visting the Food and Textiles Department at Churchill to complete a Textiles challenge.  Our focus for this project has been creating Sea Scapes using Batik then decorating using a range of embellishments.

Batik is a form of surface decoration, which originated in the Middle East, it involves students drawing their designs onto fabric then outlining these using hot wax before applying colour.

The students have produced some fantastic sea scapes which clearly show their creativity.

Well done Year 4.
