In Safe Hands

Anthony (above pictured with Paul Dunn - PE Curriculum Leader and Lucy Roderick - Director of Sport/Assistant Headteacher) has recently been rewarded with a three-year scholarship at Sunderland AFC Academy. Anthony has been part of the Academy since the age of 9 and was recently given his three year scholarship. Anthony, a superb goal keeper with exceptional shot stopping skills will begin pre season as soon as his exams finish and will embark on his quest to become a professional footballer. Everyone at Churchill is delighted with his success and we wish him all the very best for his future in Football. Sunderland also have Kane Evans (Year 10) and Jack Watson (Year 7) who will be aspiring to follow in the footsteps of Anthony. Congratulations and good luck

Meanwhile, former student Rhys Evans (20) has recently extended his stay at Queen of the South after he was rewarded with a years extension at Queen of the South following his release from St. Johnstone in 2015. Rhys now aims to challenge for a place in the first team squad in the Scottish Championship. Finally Callum Roberts, who made his debut in January 2015 for Newcastle versus current Premier League champions Leicester City will return to pre season and will hope to be involved at senior level following relegation to the Championship.
