North Tyneside Council Measles Advice

Rewarding and Recognising Schools

National Citizen Service (NCS) North East is delighted to once more congratulate our sparkling Star Schools – and unveil which of the dynamic dozen landed the status of our first ever Regional Ambassador School at an award ceremony last week.

North East teenagers led the unique NCS North East Schools Awards, held in the stunning setting of the Masonic Hall, at the heart of Beamish Museum, on Thursday 6 October.

Leadership teams from 12 schools joined scores of young people – all graduates from NCS – as well as influential decision-makers from the education, youth and voluntary sectors regionally and nationally.

The winners then enjoyed a delicious three-course Edwardian dinner in the unique Beamish tearooms.

North Tyneside –Churchill Community College - Winner
In North Tyneside, where VODA and Catch22 deliver the scheme, over 11,000 hours were generated by 370 teens from 12 different schools. The headteacher of Churchill Community College is always been more than happy to promote NCS in the local press, and to other heads in the area.
