Churchill Community College have won a National Nursing Times Award for a project Ann McAlpine – a member of Churchill staff was involved in with a group of our students,  centred around the area of self harm. This was in partnership with staff from the Northumbria NHS. There were over 700 entries for these awards, so we are very proud of Ann and the team's achievement in becoming finalists and then eventual winners from the 10 finalists that were shortlisted!.
The team won  in the ‘Nursing in Mental Health’ category and Ann attended the event at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.

Earlier in the year, we were also nominated for the "Northumbria Healthcare Building a caring future staff awards". The team, led by Ann McAlpine, were nominated in the 'Partnership Working Award' category. There were over 200 entries for the award and Churchill Community College were Runners Up. The team received this award for demonstrating success in working in partnership to improve services in managing self harm for the benefit of young people. Churchill Community College was the only school nominated as part of a team.
