Churchill Community College held it’s annual Bakeathon for Children in Need 2012.

Year 13 Hospitality and Catering students, with the support of our Food Technology Department, are hoping to beat last years record of 4002 cupcakes. Well, not only did they beat last years record, but they smashed it, baking an incredible 4200 cakes and they are hoping to raise more money than last years amazing total.

Staff and students also performed their version of Gangnam Style dancing in the main College hall, with each dancer donating £1.00 to Children in Need, and danced their hearts out to the music to help raise even more money for an amazing cause.

Another fundraising activity held at Churchill, raising money for Children In Need, was our Year 4 fairground event. Pupils from Stephenson Memorial, Denbigh Community and Battle Hill Primary Schools took part in a range of fairground activities, which included: a coconut shy, hook the duck, dig for gold, name the bear, Pudsey penalty shoot out, tin can alley, ring toss, Pudsey hunt and guess the amount of sweets in a jar.

The three schools that took part, not only had a fantastic afternoon, but helped to raise £1071.50 for Children In Need 2012.
